Please note that I will be retiring from clinical practice though 2020. I will be remaining with Genea as Medical Director.

I will not be seeing new patients or undertaking rooms consultations after June 2020, and I will be ceasing IVF and other clinical procedures from December 2020. After that, in my role as Medical Director I will maintain an important role in helping Genea’s regulatory processes and research, but will also provide help and guidance to other Genea Fertility Specialists.

My PA and friend Gai Rowan will also be finishing in the rooms at the end of June 2020 after almost 15 years.

For some time now, I have been assisted in my consulting rooms by Dr Cheryl Phua and she has been the usual doctor to cover for me when I have been away. Dr Phua gained her Medical degree at Sydney University and is Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, with the subspecialty qualification of Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). She has expertise in female and male factor infertility, reproductive endocrinology, adolescent gynaecology, andrology and menopause management. She continues to remain active in research, in particular in the fertility preservation. Dr Phua is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Mater Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

You can find out more about Dr Phua on Genea’s website and also on her website:

Between July and December, any clinical review (for example in the rooms or by telephone) will be provided by Dr Phua.

At the end of 2020, Dr Phua will be taking over my rooms completely and she will be able to provide complete and ongoing care for my patients in a seamless way.
